I love the way brassicas transform as they generate new growth year over year. This red cabbage that I got from a mutual aid plant swap made a beautiful head of cabbage in the fall, and now it’s putting out new leaves and flower buds from side shoots. My garden just does things!

This is far from the first time I've painted brassicas and their garden plots. In fact, my first oil painting of all time was a tiny impressionist portrait of a kale seedling from my grow room.
