Anarchy Earth

Lately I’ve been trying to bridge the gaps between my various styles and mediums, and find ways to bring my love of landscape painting into my propaganda practice. This little trio of paintings is the first result.

These traveled through so many different processes:

Sketched the symbol in Procreate
Drew the vector shape and masked photographs in Photoshop to create the reference compositions
Added the stencil bridges in Illustrator
Laser cut the stencil in cardboard with a Glowforge
Used the stencil and a paintbrush to transfer the symbol onto linen panels
Painted according to the reference with oil paint

There’s something very digital about them conceptually, but with an analogue application that introduces organic imperfections.
